VOLUNTEER

Call for Ongoing Volunteers!
The Museo Alameda is committed to making art, history and culture accessible and engaging for all visitors, and to make the experience inclusive of all ages, backgrounds and languages. We plan to make the experience a dialog among the museum exhibits, staff, volunteers and guests. That’s where our volunteers come in: We rely on our volunteers to bring the museum’s mission to life.
Volunteers in our public programs will facilitate the flow of the program and provide ushering. An example is our monthly “Family Day, occurring on the second Sunday of the month, for which we will entertain visitors with music and art activities. In addition, volunteers will serve in several educational programs:

  • Luminari@s (Carriers of Light): The Luminari@s cultural guides (docents) will lead visitors through the Museo.

  • La Semillita (The Little Seed): An early childhood literacy Initiative

  • Dichos Y Hechos (Walk the Talk): An intergenerational storytelling-centered learning initiative

We welcome you to join one or more of these programs to help bring the Latino story in America to life.
Volunteer Training
All volunteers will receive appropriate training as needed by the specific program. We will work with each program separately to schedule training and program duties.
All training and volunteering will occur at the Museo Alameda, 101 S. Santa Rosa.
