Casa Mireles Botanica was originally owned by Sra. Berta Mireles who was the first woman on San Antonio’s Chamber of Commerce. A cultural fixture on Dolorosa Street for nearly a century best known for selling folk healing merchandise such as saints, candles, potions and medicinal herbs. The Mireles family graciously donated the contents of the orginal Botanica including the orginal cash register, hand lettered drawers, and chandelier. Artist Franco Mondini-Ruiz lovingly recreated the Casa Mireles Botanica as the only permanent installation inside the Museo Alameda’s Regalo Gift Shop.
